Team Work...rainbeauxcraft and the Evil Eye
  rainbeauxcraft
Don't you just love this Evil Eye ring straight from Louisiana...now that's spooky!  It's the work of professional, and nationally recognized artist Dotti Berry of Baton Rouge.   She states that Evil Eye rings are   rumored to protect the wearer from evil.  I don't know about that, but this ring is sure to get some admiring glances (until the glancers realize it's staring back!).
Fall Foliage Pendant

Dotti also does fine art paintings and delightful, tiny, original watercolor pendants.  Check out her shops on Etsy,  rainbeauxcraft. and rainbeauxart....especially if you need some protection from evil (and don't we all!).

This is the first in a series called Team Work, in which I am going to spotlight some of members of the various teams I belong to on Etsy.   Dotti is Captain of the Pie Team, of which I am a proud, pudgy, and somewhat lethargic member (but, heck, it's the Pie Team...what did you expect?).

Word! Wednesday

Okay...I know it should be "Wordless Wednesday", but I've decided to just post a quotation that I think speaks for itself (you know what I mean, without any commentary).  So, though I'll emphasize words on Wednesday...they won't be mine!

Friendly Reminder...Free Monsters Giveaway!

Not to seem pushy...but here are the Monsters peering out of a candy dish and looking for a new home  ( the fourth one stayed tucked in the darling plaid bag).  The drawing is a week from today (October 9th)...and you are entered if you like me on my page on Facebook  Now that the commercial is over, back to the show.
These are my hand painted, hand crafted Halloween candy dishes (just some painted up tin planter liners and wooden candle sticks glued together). I actually have three, which is 2 1/2 too many for all my Trick or Treat candy.  But I figure that you never can have too many Halloween candy dishes (besides they were fun to make!).

Bag of Monsters...Giveaway!

For Halloween, I've decided to have a Giveaway!  My four little monsters in a printed plaid fleece bag (so you can keep them all rounded up).  This is not a kit.  I have all the MiniMonsters sewn up, stuffed, and packed in the bag , ready to ship to the lucky winner.  The winner will be randomly selected on October 9, from my Facebook  friends...in plenty of time for Halloween fun!  Just go here, like me and cross your fingers!

Hello Fall!
This is a picture from many Falls ago when I used to spend my weekends painting pumpkins for pocket change at the local pumpkin farm.  I also had a large wholesale business supplying painted pumpkins to local florists and specialty food stores.  My picture was in the Richmond newspaper every Fall because I was so darn cute, sitting and painting, surrounded by these goofy guys ( more likely, they were probably so darn cute...and I looked sorta goofy)..
I gave it up when my husband and I got tired of lugging pumpkins.  Pumpkins are HEAVY!   I swore if I ever painted large quantities of anything again it would be marbles!  Anyway, I keep this picture on my mantel, along with the family portraits.

MiniMonsters Getting Ready for Halloween
These little MiniMonsters certainly look excited about the fact that there are only 38 days until Halloween!
When I was young we always lived in packed suburban neighborhoods or large apartment complexes, so buying big quantities of cheap candy was a necessity to take care of all the roving little monsters on Halloween.  But now that we live in a rural  community, I'm very careful to buy only goodies that I like because we will probably be eating the leftovers ourselves. For years, we have only had "charity trick or treaters".  People who drive specifically to our house to show off their little Sponge Bobs and Barbie look a likes, either out of pity or because they know we will be saying,  "...take more, take more!'
