MiniMonsters Getting Ready for Halloween
These little MiniMonsters certainly look excited about the fact that there are only 38 days until Halloween!
When I was young we always lived in packed suburban neighborhoods or large apartment complexes, so buying big quantities of cheap candy was a necessity to take care of all the roving little monsters on Halloween.  But now that we live in a rural  community, I'm very careful to buy only goodies that I like because we will probably be eating the leftovers ourselves. For years, we have only had "charity trick or treaters".  People who drive specifically to our house to show off their little Sponge Bobs and Barbie look a likes, either out of pity or because they know we will be saying,  "...take more, take more!'

  2. Ha, ha Connie, we are the same way with the candy. Only buying what we need, otherwise hubby and I are left eating the leftovers:):)

  3. Whoa, only 38 days?! Sadly, we live in a condo complex that doesn't have a lot of kids, so we rarely get trick or treaters.

  4. Sometimes (when we are going out) I just leave a bowl of candy on the porch. I never would have done that in the day! The first kid would have walked off with the candy, bowl and all!

  5. We get a lot of trick or treaters in my neighborhood. It is my favorite time. I love seeing the little ones dressed up in their costumes. I go all out for halloween, spend way to much.
Your little mini monsters are so cute, going to try to work them in my budget, they will be cute to give out to the ones with extra special costumes

  6. I do think Halloween is great fun! For the last couple of years my son has taken our grandson, Joe, to a beautiful old neighborhood in downtown Richmond. The people there decorate their homes and sit on the front porch in costume and have creepy music playing. It draws a large crowd...no "charity trick or treaters" there!

  7. It wasn't until I was older when I gained weight from Halloween candy. Then I learned, buy the candy you DON'T like and take the rest to work with you the next day.
